The course shell needs to be created every semester.

1. Go to the previous Placement Test/Tech 101course in Canvas
2. Go to Settings
3. Click on "Copy the Course"

About English Placement

English Placement has 2 parts in Canvas course.

• Quiz - Times students
• Assignment - Students submit their essay in this assignment so graders can view students' document easily in Speedrader).

Setting up Quiz portion

• In the quiz, Christine Johnson should give you the new topic every semester. Swap the topic accordingly.
• Copy the assignment page URL and inert it in Quiz to update the link.
• Make sure the Time is also correct in the setting. (Should be 3 hours or ask Christine for the duration.)

Setting up Assignment portion

Make sure the following for English Placement test assignment for submission settings.

• Make sure Anonymous Grading is turned on (graders should not see students' names).
• Make sure Moderated Grading is turned on.
• Final Grader should be Christine Johnson.

1. To accomplish these, first you may need to turn on features in settings or double check to see if these features are turned on. (Canvas Default is off)
2. Go to the duplicated assignment for submission, then edit the settings to turn on Anonymous Grading and Moderated Grading (set Christine as Final Grader)

Create a section for New Freshman Students

You should have access to the XYZ file.

CROSSLISTING TECH101 into Placement Course

You need to crosslist TECH101 course section into Placement course.

You can either do this via SIS import or manual setup.
